Chess Instructor
MICHAEL PATRUCKER
Michael, who has been an ICA coach for years, is a professional Math and Sciences teacher in the past. Chess is his life-long career and passion. He was president of the City College Chess Club and has been teaching Chess since. For many years, he was teaching Chess in various settings: after-school chess programs in North Caldwell and Divine Mercy Academy (Rockaway, NJ); Hilton Library, Maplewood Chess Club, and others. His students attended NJ State Elementary Championship and as a team tied for 3rd place, while two of his students won 1st place in 3rd and 5th-grade sections, correspondingly.
Michael's High School Team attended the grueling three-day Amateur East Tournament and finished 3 out of 6.
For his students, Mike is their teacher, coach, and friend. He has attended all their tournaments and continues to encourage and teach them.
